Post-event of ICAME 2019 — Mössbauer Spectrum Analysis Workshop, September 06, 2019, Dalian, China

This half-day workshop was a post-event of ICAME 2019, the organizer was Mössbauer Effect Data Center, Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The organizing committee chairs were Professor Junhu Wang and Dr. Zoltan Klencsár.

Also at the request of the International Mössbauer Community, we arranged this special workshop just after ICAME 2019. As an important post-event of the ICAME 2019 conference, this half-day workshop mainly covered the following topics:

1. Processing of raw Mössbauer spectra with MossWinn, data formats, spectrum calibration

2. Tools and main theories available for the analysis of individual Mössbauer spectra

3. Analysis of Mössbauer spectra displaying hyperfine parameter distributions

4. Spectrum analysis via the simultaneous fitting of a series of Mössbauer spectra

5. Database aided spectrum analysis

6. Data analysis by using user-written theories

It is well-known that Dr. Zoltan Klencsár is the developer of the MossWinn software, and has rich experience and knowledge for the analysis of the Mössbauer spectrum. In China and Japan, most Mössbauer spectroscopic research laboratories use the MossWinn software, which has been widely praised and loved by Chinese and Japanese colleagues.

Professor Denes Lajos Nagy is a well-known Mössbauer spectroscopic scientist and also has the practical experience and knowledge of the development of the Mössbauer spectrum analysis software. Due to the health, Denes cancelled his participation before ICAME 2019, but he still was available to deliver an international video lecture with the support of Zoltan and our staff. As far as I know, this should be the first video lecture delivered on an International Conference. His PPT slides can be downloaded from the following website: http://nucssp.rmki.kfki.hu/~mossba/ ICAME_2019/Nagy.pptx

This workshop, though only a half-day, two speakers, four lectures, still attracted nearly 100 participants. It should be the largest number of participants in the spectrum analysis training course, so far as I know. The details of workshop are listed in the attached Table.
